Faux Chipboard and Christmas Sparkle

Hi Everyone!
I am pleased to be back with another Whimsy inspiration post and video for you.  This week I am using an October release die alongside the snowflake set we used last month over on my blog Hedgehog Hollow!

Let's look at today's project...
I love this two-part die that adds snow capping to the letters. I also really like this technique to create extra dimension to your cards, I created my own chipboard effect letters!  The red embossing adds a great pop and so much sparkle form the WOW! embossing powder! Let's look at the tutorial...

I love making multiple cards with the same supplies and showing you new ways to mix it up too!

Happy Stamping!

Monthly Inspiration from Alanna -- 3 cards with Abstract Christmas

Hi friends. I have three cards to share with you today, all using the super fun Abstract Christmas stamp set from Whimsy Stamps that was recently released.

For my first card, I created my background using some various colors of Distress Inks that I smooshed into some water color card stock.  I then stamped and heat embossed the Christmas tree and the sentiment with some silver embossing powder.

For my second card, I did the same thing except this time with some various blue inks with some gold embossing powder. I also rubbed my Versamark ink pad down the edge of a white piece of card stock and then coated it with the same gold embossing powder.

For my last card, I thought it would be fun to heat emboss the image onto some black card stock. I then took some metallic water colors and added just a touch to some of the circles in the tree. I also added heat embossing to the edges of my panel like I did in the card above.

I hope you've enjoyed these cards today. Thanks for dropping by. Crafty hugs!

I used this adorable rubber stamp from Sylvia Zet - Wishlist.

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.

I cut out some tags using the Stitched Tag dies and the window frame using a die from the Shaker Builder - Sweetest Birthday set. I used some vellum behind the frame to give it a more muted effect to the paper behind.

The sentiment is a new chipboard element from Whimsy Stamps - Christmas Adapt-a-words chipboard. These are super light and can be colored easily with pens.
The papers are from my stash, and I used white and black gel pens to add some stitching details.
I used some twine and bells to wrap around the frame and some enamel dots from the Christmas Cheer collection.

Thanks for looking.

Penguin Birthday - with Special Guest Michelle Short

Hello there, Michelle here and I am back with my second card as a guest for Whimsy Stamps. Today I am using the Penguin Birthday set, as well as the Everyday MiniSentiments set. Whimsy Stamps has lots of cute penguins for nearly every occasion anytime of the year...not just for the winter holidays.

I started off by stamping the penguin on to a piece of white cardstock that was cut using a stitched rectangle die. I then stamped the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment at the top, from the Everyday Mini Sentiments set. The panel was coloured using Copic Markers. It is a little difficult to see in the photos but I added colourless blender dots to the background to help with the birthday celebration theme.

The image panel was simply adhered to a white A2 card base with foam tape and then I added some shimmer to the present ribbon, hat and balloon with Wink of Stella. I also added Crystal Glaze to the balloon. Thanks so much for visiting the Whimsy Stamps Blog today and a big thank you goes to Denise, Deb and the team for having me guest with them. Have a great day!
